Barnstorm Theatre Company (Ireland) [theatres that develop new work]

Barnstorm creates theatre with, by and for 'non-traditional audiences' in its community (children, young people, adults, community groups, schools etc). The company is best known for its work in the field of TYA and has built a deserved reputation for pushing boundaries in the field with a mission that every young citizen has the right to engagement in the arts throughout their lives.

Barnstorm has been producing exciting work since 1991 and is based in Kilkenny, Ireland. It has its own theatre, The Barn, where many of the annual productions are presented but also tours to venues throughout the country.

Barnstorm develops and produces new work annually and supports artists' development through its Incubate programme, which gives time, space and resources to new and emerging artists to R&D and/or present work in the field of TYA, Community Theatre and Education.
