Avital Stolar is a recent graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where she received her BA in Theatre and Dance. She studied playwriting with Suzan Zeder and Kirk Lynn. She began writing for young audiences in high school when her school's homophobic atmosphere inspired her play "Sticks & Stones".
Her plays have received readings or productions at Houston's Alley Theatre, Stages Repertory Theatre and at UT in the Cohen New Works Festival. Her play, “See Me” was commissioned by the Houston Young Lawyers Association for dating violence awareness month and was performed for an audience of 150 high school students at Stages Repertory Theatre. She also works as a teaching artist with students of all ages to devise and perform their own original plays.
