Schoolyard Stories is an interdisciplinary project (which includes playwriting, direction, staging, exhibition and work with young people) about high school yards, dealing with adolescent topics from previous researches in secondary schools.

Scripts Sought for PLAYground Festival of Fresh Works

Playwrights are invited to submit a script to Purple Crayon Players’ PLAYground Festival of Fresh Works,

an exciting development opportunity for new work by TYA playwrights. We are currently seeking submissions for our 8th annual festival, to be held on Northwestern University’s campus in Spring 2016.

International writers as well as US writers are encouraged to submit.  International playwrights should note that the scripts must be in English and limited travel funding is available.

Announcing WLPG Sparks (Chicago): The Unexpected

WLPG Sparks (Chicago): the unexpected is a collaborative project between Write Local. Play Global, the international TYA playwright’s network, and Theatre for Young Audiences/USA toward the creation of original 500 word monologues on the theme of what happens at an unexpected moment of opportunity.  The selected pieces will be read by the playwrights at the One Theatre World Festival which will be held from May 7-9, 2015 hosted by The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago.
