Wang, Lucy (USA)

Lucy Wang is an award-winning, published and produced writer, but she began her illustrious career as a Wall Street bond trader and served as Deputy Chief of Staff during Mayor Dinkins’ Administration.   Her awards include the Kennedy Center Fund for New American Plays, Best New Political Social Play from the Katherine and Lee Chilcote Foundation, Berrilla Kerr Foundation, James Thurber Fellowship, CAPE’s New Writers TV Award, NATPE Diversity Fellow, and artistic residencies at Annenberg Community Beach House, Hedgebrook, MacDowell, Atlantic Center for the Arts, Djerassi Resident Artists Program, and the Tin Shop.

Wang's plays have been performed all over, and many are available at Original Works Publishing, JAC Publishing and Amazon. 

Her first youth play TEEN MOGUL is about a young girl who saves her family after her mother's abandonment, and inspired by real life.  Her youth monologues PRETTY FOR AN ASIAN GIRL and MY SUPERPOWER will be published by Applause Books, and Meriwether Publishing 2013.  Wang has also written a YA novel, two short films, sold a pilot to Disney, taught at many fine universities, and performed standup comedy.  She is currently a member of Katselas Playlabs and the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights.
