Laurie Brooks is an award-winning playwright and young adult fiction author. Awards include: TCG National Theatre Artists Residency, AT&T Firststage, three Distinguished Play Awards and Chorpenning Cup from AATE. Her play The Wrestling Season was featured at The Kennedy Center’s One Theatre World, printed in American Theatre and won “Best of” in Seattle, Kansas City and Dallas. Plays include The Tangled Web, Deadly Weapons, Everyday Heroes, A Laura Ingalls Wilder Christmas, The Lost Ones, Selkie: Between Land and Sea, Franklin’s Apprentice, Devon’s Hurt, The Match Girl’s Gift, Brave No World: Community, Identity, Stand Up Comedy, Atypical Boy, and Triangle. Former professor at New York University and Artist in Residence at Arizona State University, her novel for young adults is Selkie Girl.
