Echeveste, Cleiton (Brazil)
Brazilian playwright, director and actor, a Drama graduated at the Institute of Arts/UFRGS, in Porto Alegre. Cleiton has acted as a professional artist since 1990. In theater direction, he has focused on the TYA. His two most recent TYA plays, as a director and playwright, are 'O Menino que Brincava de Ser' ('The Make-Believe Boy'), adapted from Georgina Martins' original book (DCL, São Paulo, 2000), and 'Cabeça de Vento' ('Airhead'), published by Giostri Editora (São Paulo, 2012). For 'Cabeça de Vento', Cleiton was twice awarded Best Playwright (at Duque de Caxias and Ponta Grossa’s National Theater Festivals). Cleiton now works on two new projects with Pandorga, his theater company: 'Os Livros Voadores' ('The Flying Books'), Pandorga’s third production for Young Audiences, and 'refugo' ('waste'), its first production for adult audiences. He also works on a commissioned play for Telúrica Produções, 'Benjamin - the boy from Patafufo'. Cleiton has been a board member of CBTIJ/ASSITEJ Brasil since 2007.
