Allison Gregory’s plays for young audiences have been produced and developed around the country, including GO DOG. GO!, adapted from the P.D. Eastman book and co-written with Steven Dietz; EVEN STEVEN GOES TO WAR (“Zoni” Best New Script; AATE and UPRP awards; Kennedy Center New Visions/New Voices); PETER AND THE WOLF (Seattle Times Best New Play; Natl. tour), THE BREMENTOWN MUSICIANS; and JUNIE B. IN JINGLE BELLS, BATMAN SMELLS!, which premiered at Childsplay.
She has received commissions and development from South Coast Repertory, ACT, The Skirball-Kenis Foundation, Seattle Children’s Theatre, The Kennedy Center, Childsplay, Northwest Playwright’s Alliance, and Hedgebrook Women Playwright’s Foundation. Plays for adults include FORCING HYACINTHS (Julie Harris Playwriting Award; South Coast Repertory Theatre’s California Playwrights Award); FALL OFF NIGHT (Garland Award, L.A); and BURNING BRIDGET CLEARY (Seattle Times Best New Play).
Ms. Gregory lives in Austin and Seattle with her husband, playwright Steven Dietz, and her understanding children Ruby and Abraham.
