I have written forty-eight plays, thirty-seven for children and eleven for adults, all staged in various theaters. Over the years, I directed seventy theatrical productions. I performed in fifty stage productions in various theatres like the "Cameri" Theater and the Haifa Theater, engaging in film and TV roles. I served as the Artistic Director of the Haifa Festival for three years, and currently, I hold the position of Artistic Director for a Be'er Sheva-based fringe theater group. Additionally, I founded a children's fringe theater at the Khan Theater in Jerusalem and have been teaching and directing at the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio since 1994, including adult writing workshops, both local and international.
I've received twelve awards: five for playwriting, three for direction, and four for best theatrical production. Ten of my plays were translated into various languages, and I've created five bilingual productions.
In a more personal way:
• Theater, for both children and adults, is my life's passion. I see it as a mission and put my heart, love, and pleasure into it.
• It's crucial to teach the Arabic language to Hebrew-speaking Israelis from a young age because language and culture go together. By knowing the language, people can better understand the culture, connect with it, and reduce fear and aggression.
• My works focus on the playful aspects of theatre, such as storytelling, physical theater, pantomime, poetry, and spoken word.
• When teaching theater, I emphasize listening, reciprocity, and helping students become more familiar with their unique emotional structure.
• Lastly, I believe that in art, especially theater, the path to creation should always involve manual labor.
