Larlham, Margaret (USA)

As a professor of theatre at San Diego State University (previously at the University of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa), Margaret Larlham has choreographed, devised, directed, and/or written new plays with and for theatre students to perform for young audiences. The plays are scripted and have a strong physical theatre base, oftentimes with musical emphasis and interest in cultural diversity:

Many of her productions have been filmed by SDSU colleague, Tim Powell, and are accessible to view on VIMEO channel:

Her play scripts, used with the video resources, have promoted new physical theatre productions by many schools, and theatre companies and have widened audiences to her work. Symphony of Clouds – a story of Mozart, was produced by Pollyanna Theatre Company in Austin Texas. Jungle Book, produced by North Coast Rep. has recently enjoyed a school production with a cast of eighty schoolchildren in New Delhi, India.
