Nishida, Toyoko (Japan)

Born in 1948, Toyoko Nishida is a Japanese playwright and theatre director for young audiences. After her first theatre piece A Little Flame Fantasy, she has written and directed a number of performances, including classical works such as operettas and new “Kyogen” pieces. She teaches dramaturgy and performing arts for the young at university. She has realized several intercultural collaboration projects with South Korean and UK companies, amongst others.
