Siddons, Kelby (USA)
Kelby Siddons has been honored as a finalist in the Manhattan Theatre Club's REALationships Playwriting Competition and the recipient of Northwestern University's Aurand Harris award for excellence in Theater for Young Audiences.
She was the acting artistic director of Northwestern University's Purple Crayon Players when it received the Winnifred Ward Award for Outstanding New Theatre Company. She began PCP's annual PLAYground, a unique undergraduate-run festival of fresh works for young audiences, while serving on the board.
Her plays have been seen in New York ("Off the Couch" at Manhattan Theater Club), Milwaukee (SLAMMED at the Milwaukee Rep), Houston (XOCHITL: THE TALE OF A PRINCESS AND A PEA at Express Children's Theater), and her native Jacksonville, FL (WAR PAINT and MUGGY NIGHTS & GOLDEN DAYS), where she won Theater Jacksonville's first annual 2011 24-hour playwriting competition.
Siddons teaches dramatic literature and playwriting at the Episcopal School of Jacksonville while continuing to write, dramaturg, direct, act in, consult for, and generally create theater. She serves as a co-chair of the American Alliance of Theater and Education's Playwriting Network.
