Skorokhod, Natalia (Russia)

Natalia Skorokhod was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia where she still resides today. Educated in stage production at the State Theatre Academy of St. Petersburg, Natalia currently teaches drama at the Academy as well as at the University of Culture & Art. Since 1986, Natalia has written over twenty plays, produced both in Russia and abroad in such places as Switzerland and Slovakia. She is also the author of eight screenplays to date. She has been honored with numerous awards for her work, including first prize in 2006 and jury prize in 2009 for the “Best Fiction Script” at the all-Russian festival and competition Russian History Memory. Natalia also has over 100 publications in Russian film and theater magazines, including TEATR (Moscow), TEATRALNAYA (Moscow), and PETERBURGSKI TEATRALNIJ ZHURNAL (St. Petersburg), and has been featured in international publications as well. She is also an advisor for Arlekin 2010, the Russian children and youth theater festival.
