Brandt, Sarah (USA)
Sarah Brandt is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis where she received a BA in English and Writing. After stints as a magazine and news journalist, she decided to pursue her true love--writing fiction and drama for kids. Works include My Father’s Dragon, A Peter Rabbit Tale (published by Playscripts, Inc.) The Nutcracker, A Gnome for Christmas and The Elves and the Shoemaker. Her plays have received four Kevin Kline Award nominations for Outstanding Production for Young Audiences, and were originally commissioned by The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis for their touring children's ensemble, Imaginary Theatre Company. Sarah is always working on new story ideas and is currently writing an original children's play entitled Cammy Chameleon as well as the new musical, The Tortoise and the Hare. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America and Theatre for Young Audiences/USA.
